Getting Started

If you are looking to build up your own DIY project collection of tools and accessories, the very first thing you should be thinking about is storage. Before you get started buying odd job tools, make sure you have the appropriate storage container and storage space in your home. Ideally, an area dedicated to your DIY projects would be ideal such as an outhouse shed or at least a storage cupboard for your toolboxes.

Having the proper workspace is essential to project success and can turn your DIY home projects into a hobby and not a chore. For those with a large area to work in you may wish to invest in proper tool workbenches, storage cabinets and wall hangings to make your DIY area enjoyable and well organised. Once you have the area and storage sorted out you can begin slowly filling it up over time as you encounter more projects and require different tools and accessories. You may wish to invest in a range of items at once every so often such as a range of screws, bulbs or paintbrushes. However, make sure you are not left without funding when an urgent home project pops up as you may need to make an unexpected purchase.

So for all you beginner DIY people, good luck on creating your first DIY area!
